Community Involvement - Mountain Bike Patrol    The Schenectady Police Department’s Mountain Bike Patrol is incorporated within the patrol division. Officers who have completed the necessary mountain Bike training academy have the option to use a patrol car or mountain bike while on patrol. Selected SPD patrol vehicles are equipped with bike racks so an officer has the option to park his patrol vehicle and patrol his zone on bicycle when applicable. There are two full time mountain bike patrols, both patrolling the downtown area of Schenectady.
