SUBJECT:MAN ARRESTED AFTER ROBBING CONVENIENCE STORE
A 30-year-old Glenville man has been arrested for robbing the Union Convenience store, 1505 Van Vranken Avenue, at about 9:30 Tuesday evening.
Geoffrey Gravell entered the store, struck the clerk (51-year-old Moslah Hotbni) in the head several times with a metal pry bar, and stole the drawer from the cash register. Gravell then fled the store and ran north on Van Vranken. At about 11 p.m., Gravell was located at a residence on nearby Hattie Street and taken into custody.
Gravell is charged with Robbery-1st degree. He was arraigned this morning in Police Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail.
Mr. Hotbni sustained a laceration to his head and was treated at Ellis Hospital.
