SUBJECT:MAN ARRESTED FOR ARSON/MURDER IN 9/1/05 ALVEY STREET FIRE
As a result of the extensive multi-agency investigation into the fatal fire that occurred at 10 Alvey Street on Thursday, September 1st, a 20-year-old Alvey Street man was arrested and charged late last night with intentionally starting that fire.
Kevin Lynch, of 21 Alvey Street, has been charged with Arson in the 1st degree and 3 counts of Murder in the 2nd degree for causing the deaths of Barbara Hopper, Vicki Hopper and James Parola.
Lynch is being arraigned this morning in Police Court.
This investigation resulted in a successful conclusion because of a team effort between fire investigators with the Schenectady Fire and Police Departments, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control
