SUBJECT:UPDATE – PAIGE STREET BODY

(From) September 12, 2005

Detectives continue to investigate the death of an unidentified woman whose naked body was discovered under the rear porch of a vacant apartment building at 288 Paige Street at about 2 p.m. Friday. A city maintenance crew that was cleaning the property found the body.

The body is that of a black female, approximately 5’ tall and 100 pounds. An autopsy was not able to determine the cause of her death and there were no signs of trauma to the body. It is estimated that the woman died approximately 4-5 weeks ago. It is not known if she died under the porch or was placed there by someone after she died. Toxicology tests are being conducted and her fingerprints have been forwarded to the Department of Criminal Justice Services in an attempt to identify her.

The woman had a small rose and the word “Starquan” tattooed on her left lower leg.

Anyone who believes they know the identity of the woman is asked to call the Schenectady Police Department.

No other information is available at this time.
