SUBJECT:PROSPECT STREET RAID NETS CRACK COCAINE DEALERS
After a month-long undercover investigation into a couple’s crack cocaine dealing, members of the Department’s Vice and Special Operations Squads – joined by the New York State Police, the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office and the Schenectady County Department of Social Services – raided 101 Prospect Street this morning and arrested the husband and wife on numerous drug charges.
During the 6 a.m. raid, detectives seized nearly 21 grams of crack, $3,000 in cash and a 1999 Dodge Durango sport utility vehicle.
Lisa Hatcher, 28, is charged with 14 felonies: 4 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance-3rd degree (CSCS), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance-3rd (CPCS) and CPCS-5th for selling crack on four occasions. As a result of today’s raid, she is also charged with CPCS-4th and Welfare Fraud-4th.
Hatcher’s husband, 35-year-old Paul Young, is charged with 5 felonies: CSCS-3rd, CPCS-3rd and CPCS-5th for selling crack on one occasion. As a result of today’s raid, he is also charged with CPCS-4th and CPCS-5th.
The couple’s 3 young children (ages and genders unknown) were placed with a relative.
Hatcher and Young are being held at Police Headquarters and will be arraigned on Saturday morning.
