SUBJECT:UNION COLLEGE STUDENTS ARRESTED FOR MARIHUANA DEALING
Two Union College students were arrested this morning as a result of a joint undercover investigation conducted over the past several months by the Department’s Vice Squad and New York State Police C-NET Capital that targeted marihuana dealing on and around campus.
Richard Valentas and Jonah Silk, both 21-years-old, were charged in separate indictments with selling and possessing marihuana. Both ran separate marihuana dealing operations.
Valentas – who lives on campus and is from East Haven, Connecticut – is charged with the felonies of Criminal Sale of Marihuana-3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Marihuana-4th, and the misdemeanors of CSM-4th and CPM-5th.
Silk – who lives at 1050 Park Avenue and is from Woodbridge, Connecticut – is charged with the felonies of CSM-2nd and CSM-3rd, and the misdemeanors of CPM-4th and CPM-5th.
They were apprehended at their Schenectady residences, arraigned in Supreme Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail.
