SUBJECT:HOWARD STREET STABBING / SHOOTING VICTIMS IDENTIFIED

Detectives are investigating a Friday evening fight in Mont Pleasant that resulted in one city man being stabbed and another being shot.

The fight occurred at about 7:45 p.m. in front of 1089 Howard Street. During the altercation, 19-year-old Sean Gailand was stabbed in the chest and left arm. Minutes after the fight ended, 26-year-old Quincey Atwell was shot in the right upper side by an unknown black male armed with an unknown type of gun.

Both men were treated at the scene by Schenectady Fire Department paramedics. Gailand was transported to Albany Medical Center where he is currently in critical condition. Atwell was transported to Ellis Hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

The shooter is described as a dark-skinned black male, about 59 tall, wearing blue jeans and a yellow/white/orange shirt.
