SUBJECT:PICK-UP TRUCK SOUGHT AFTER STRIKING PEDESTRIAN/FLEEING

The Department is requesting the publicís help in locating a pick-up truck and its driver after an 18-year-old city man was struck late Wednesday evening while crossing Route 7.

At about 10:20 p.m., John Canaday, III was walking west on Albany Street and across Route 7 when he was hit by a truck that was traveling west on Route 7, which then fled the scene. Canaday sustained leg injuries and was transported to St. Clareís Hospital.

The pick-up truck is described as full-sized (possibly an extended cab), navy blue, with a broken out driverís side window and a 4x4 decal on the rear side.

The driver is described as a white male with blonde hair.
