SUBJECT:Male Charged in Delamont Avenue Shots Fired

Schenectady Police detectives have charged a male for his involvement in today’s shooting incident at 1039 Delamont Avenue. Schenectady Police responded to the area of 1039 Delamont Avenue at approximately 3:40 p.m. today for a call of shots fired. It was reported that a male was shooting a rifle. The male was apprehended a short time later on Emmett Street. No one was hit, and the rifle was recovered behind 1036 Dealmont Avenue. Commissioner Bennett would like to stress that the quick arrest and recovery of the rifle were due to the cooperation of the neighborhood.

The following male has been charged and is currently being held at the Schenectady city lockup pending arraignment tomorrow morning:

* Avery L. Fauntleroy, 17, 854 Emmett Street, Schectady- charged with 1 count of Reckless Endangerment 1st (D Felony) and 1 count of Menacing 2nd (A Misdemeanor)
