SUBJECT:Schenectady Man Charged in April Shooting Incident

A Schenectady man has been arrested for shooting a Brooklyn man April 18, 2008 on State Street near Hulett Street.

Steven A. Arzu, 26, of 1106 Barrett Street, has been charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder for shooting Eliel Pope( formerly reported as Eliel Poke) April 18th. Pope was previously charged with illegally possessing a handgun at the time he was shot.

Arzu was arraigned this afternoon in Schenectady City Court and remanded to the county jail without bail.

The investigation into the April 18th incident is continuing.
