SUBJECT:CIVILIAN POLICE ACADEMY GRADUATION TUESDAY 12/16

The current Civilian Police Academy will conclude on Tuesday, December 16th. A ceremony commemorating the event will be held at 7 p.m. that evening in the City Council chambers at City Hall.

The 11 members of the Cityís Police Review Board attended the 10-week long Academy that began on October 21st.

The class was introduced to all aspects of police work, and police personnel from all of the Departmentís bureaus and units made presentations.

Among the topics covered were training, investigations, D.A.R.E., internal affairs, media relations, evidence and forensics, police court, community policing, law, communications, arrest procedures, specialized units, use of force, and police weapons/shooting. The class also toured Police Headquarters and did a patrol ride-along.

Expected to attend the ceremony are Mayor Albert Jurczynski, Mayor Elect Brian Stratton, Public Safety Commissioner Daniel Boyle, Police Chief Michael Geraci, and members of the City Council.

The public is invited to attend.
